Flicks on Sundays!

We are a friendly local film group that welcomes anyone who enjoys going to the movies. In partnership with The Hunter Club Arts Centre in Bury St Edmunds, we screen 12 films from September to May each year.

We enjoy first-class projection facilities including an extra large screen for that BIG MOVIE effect! We have exclusive use of a bar, which opens at 6.15 pm, prior to film screenings which start at 7 pm on Sundays.

All films are introduced by a member, perhaps discussing the stars, the director or the theme of the movie. And there may be a brief discussion afterwards, since we aim to add to everyone's knowledge about each film and how and why it was made. But don't panic – these are not stuffy, academic introductions and talks, simply people that love movies sharing their views!

Films are selected by our members, who are welcome to send suggestions to contact@bsefs.co.uk at any time. Suggestions are discussed and titles chosen by members of the Film Selection Panel.

An email reminder is always sent to members a few days before the film date.

All films are screened by and at The Hunter Club Arts Centre, the main entrance to which can be found at the south end of St Andrews St South (IP33 3PH) in Bury St Edmunds. We use their large hall in comfortable surroundings where we enjoy first-class projection facilities and the exclusive use of a bar, which opens at 6.15 pm, prior to film screenings which start at 7 pm on Sundays.
